What happens, and when

You don't have to wait for your physical card. It can take longer to reach some areas, but once you get your activation SMS you can access your card digitally on WhatsApp or in the Kaelo MyHealth app.

  2. 1 NovYour cover startsYou're covered from this date
  3. Mid-NovSMS and digital cardKaelo sends your activation SMS. Your digital card is now available
  4. End NovYour physical membership card arrivesAbout two weeks after the SMS. It may take longer in some areas
  5. Nov paydayFirst deductionShows on that month's payslip

Your dates depend on the month you join. Join by the 25th to be covered from the 1st of the next month. If you join by choice, a waiting period may apply to some benefits; see the FAQs.

Your digital card

Access your card digitally

Available once you get your activation SMS. It works just like the physical card. Choose one of two ways.

On WhatsApp

  1. Save 066 433 6768 and send "Hello"
  2. Follow the prompts to the main menu
  3. Choose Personal Documents, then Health Digital Card

In the Kaelo MyHealth app

  1. Download Kaelo MyHealth from Google Play, the App Store or Huawei AppGallery
  2. Register with your policy number
  3. Tap Digital Card
